graphic design, collateral
Jane Holiday is an LA-based artist creating music that is honest and true. The identity visualizes a retro pop-rock revival through a range of collateral that communicates the larger-than-life character of Jane Holiday. 'For Rudy, With Love' looked back at text-heavy cassettes like Miles Davis' 'Kind of Blue' (1959) and Serge Gainsbourg's 'Master Serie' (1991). Future Retro Super Soul grabs inspiration from distressed, border-heavy vinyl covers like Toots Thielemans' 'Contrasts' (1966), Roberta Flack's 'Quiet Fire' (1971), and Refused's 'The Shape of Punk to Come' (1998). The collection of tour posters uses this distressed grain for a familiar texture. Dates and headers are arranged in a clean, linear fashion in a shade of off-white that contrasts the deep red and blue tones of the full-bleed images.
